CONFESSIONS OF A BONDAHOLIC

15 years ago today I formally became a James Bond fan. So, am I supposed to repeat telling the same story every five or ten years? The answer is probably yes; this is the price you got to pay for all the exclusive stuff I’ve been uploading. No hard feelings, I hope.

Yet, this time I won’t tell you the same story again. You know I became a Bond fan after watching GOLDENEYE on TV when I was seven years old. Oh God! Said it again!

BROSNAN BEYOND BOND

Many fans nowadays could have doubt he was the best James Bond, altough others really do. But the truth is that no matter how good you see him as Bond, you can’t discuss what a great actor he is. From his first silver screen roles in the 1980s to the Bond-between roles in the 90s and his Hollywood-esque movies from the 2000s and 2010s, we’ll now make short reviews of some films showing the versatility of an actor like him.

OLD DOG, NEW TRICKS – Bringing back the Aston Martin DB5 for GOLDENEYE

Pierce Brosnan poses with the
Aston Martin DB5
With Aston Martin celebrates its centenary this week, we’ll be looking back at the Bond machine resurrection as James Bond’s trademark car in GOLDENEYE.

When Desmond Llewelyn’s Q introduced it to James Bond portrayed by Sean Connery in GOLDFINGER, released in 1964, the Aston Martin DB5 –number plate BMT 216A– was equipped with lots of gadgets including the famous ejector seat device that saves Bond’s life later in the film. It’d make a re-appearance in 1965’s THUNDERBALL, too, getting the status of “the Bond car”.

ADELE STANDS TALL AT GOLDEN GLOBES - SKYFALL wins for Best Original Song!

Adele and her
Golden Globe
She made it. British singer Adele won the Golden Globe award for "Skyfall", the song she performed and wrote (with Paul Epworth) for the 23rd James Bond film of the same name, beating up the songs for "For You" (from ACT OF VALOR), "Not Running Anymore" (from STAND UP GUYS and written by Jon Bon Jovi), "Safe and Sound" (from THE HUNGER GAMES) and "Suddenly" from LES MISERABLES.

This is the first Golden Globe won by the Bond franchise after Madonna's main title song for DIE ANOTHER DAY lost in the 2002 awards. It is also the first win for a very moved Adele, who sent her thanks to Sam Mendes, Daniel Craig "for being such a wonderful Bond" and to her coming son.

THE LOST ART OF INTERROGATION - John Altman Interview

Welcome to The Lost Art of Interrogation. Here, we will practice this "lost art" with some people involved in the world of GOLDENEYE. Interviews have been done by private e-mailing and might have had some slight editing to fit the structure of the site, but the opinion of the interviewed remains, of course, untouched with its actual words.

Our first interviewed really needs no introduction. He's a famous composer, as famous as James Bond is in a way, and he was also responsible for making Pierce Brosnan a big star after suggesting director John McKenzie to cast him in a leading role in 1987's THE FOURTH PROTOCOL. Born in London in 1949, John Altman has composed and produced music of many famous films like the critically acclaimed TITANIC, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

NOT QUITE A LEGEND – 007 LEGENDS review

007 LEGENDS cover artwork - now you
can judge a game by its cover!
Note: for an unknown game glitch I’m stuck on a part of the MOONRAKER mission where I have to hack a WiFi port, but for some reason, every time I press “E” on my PC, the thing doesn’t works. I don’t even have the “Press E To Hack” disclaimer. I’ll review the game until this point.

While SKYFALL was a true 50th Bond anniversary celebration, 007 LEGENDS, the latest James Bond game by Activision after QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008), GOLDENEYE 007 (2010), BLOOD STONE (2010) and GOLDENEYE 007: RELOADED (2011), is quite a disappointment.

GOODBYE, MR. ACTIVISION? - Activision Might not Return for Another Bond Game

After the tremendous fail of 007 LEGENDS, that led to the close of developer Eurocom, Activision, the video game enterprise in charge of the James Bond videogames since 2008, could not return for another Bond video game.

GOLDENEYE 007 RELOADED.

Their Bond videogames QUANTUM OF SOLACE, BLOOD STONE and 007 LEGENDS were deleted from Steam and official site online catalog, which means they could have ended up their 007 contract originally due to end in 2014.

Thanks to James Bond Brasil for the alert.
